In short
No account, no ads, no selling of data, no tracking across apps.
Your log, allergies, weight and recipes stay on your phone. The publisher has no access to them.
What stays on your device
Pantry, target, favorites, history, food log, water, activity, goal, weight, height, age, sex and daily activity level, allergies and diet, shopping list, notes, reminder settings. This information, some of which concerns your health, is not sent to any Smoozy server.
It is deleted with the app or with your browser data. The export (Profile → My data) creates a file that you keep or share yourself.
Apple Health and Health Connect
If you allow it, Smoozy reads your active energy and your steps, read-only, to adjust your calorie target. This data stays on your phone and is used for nothing else.
Camera and scanning
The camera is only used when you choose to. Meal photos stay on your phone, unless you ask for them to be analysed.
AI analysis: only if you tick the agreement, one photo at a time, it goes through Smoozy’s server, which passes it to Anthropic (United States), a processor acting for the publisher, to spot the foods and estimate the amounts. This analysis is part of Smoozy+: the app’s anonymous RevenueCat identifier comes with the photo to check the subscription. The answer (food names and amounts) comes back to your phone; you check it before anything is added to your log. Smoozy’s server keeps neither the photo nor the answer and logs neither. Anthropic does not use the photo or the answer to train its models and deletes them within 30 days at most, unless they are flagged for abuse of its usage policies. The transfer to the United States is covered by Anthropic’s data processing addendum, which includes the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
When you scan a product, only its barcode is sent to Open Food Facts, a collaborative database, to show its page.
Reminders
Reminders are notifications scheduled on your phone. No server sends them.
Subscription
Payment is made with your Apple or Google account: Smoozy never sees your card.
To know whether your subscription is active, Smoozy uses RevenueCat (United States), a processor acting for the publisher. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier created for the app, the purchase history provided by the store, and technical information (operating system, app version, IP address). The transfer to the United States is covered by RevenueCat’s data processing addendum, which includes the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Usage analytics
To improve the introduction, the offer and the recipes, Smoozy counts a few actions: opening the app, the introduction’s steps, viewing and choosing the offer, blends started or logged (adjusted or not), reminder settings, notes added, recipes shared or received, photo analyses started (successful or not, without the photo or its content).
No health data, no food, no quantity and no text you type is part of it.
These statistics are tied to a random identifier with no link to you. It is renewed every 13 months, or when you turn analytics back on. They are processed by TelemetryDeck (Germany), a processor acting for the publisher, and kept for 25 months at most.
You can stop analytics at any time in Profile → Privacy.
